Itinerary

Haridwar to Barkot (Yamunotri) - Your journey begins from the holy city of Haridwar, where you will be picked up early in the morning. En route to Barkot, enjoy a scenic drive through the mesmerizing landscapes of the Shivalik range and lush green valleys. On your way, visit the Kempty Falls in Mussoorie for a quick stopover, allowing you to capture some beautiful moments amidst cascading waters. Afterward, continue your drive to Barkot, a picturesque town nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, serving as a base for the Yamunotri trek. Check into your hotel and rest overnight, preparing for the next day’s adventure. You will experience a tranquil evening with the cool breeze of the mountains, setting the tone for a spiritual and peaceful journey ahead.
Barkot to Yamunotri and Return - After an early breakfast, embark on a drive to Janki Chatti, the starting point for the trek to Yamunotri, one of the first stops of the Char Dham Yatra. The 6-kilometer trek can be covered either on foot, by pony, or via palanquins. As you ascend, enjoy the serene views of the surrounding valleys and the majestic Himalayas. Upon reaching the Yamunotri Temple, take a dip in the sacred thermal springs of Surya Kund, believed to cleanse the soul of all sins. Offer prayers to Goddess Yamuna at the temple and visit the Divya Shila, a rock pillar for worship. After the darshan, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot. Enjoy a restful evening at the hotel.
Barkot to Uttarkashi (Gangotri) - Post breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed towards Uttarkashi, the gateway to Gangotri. The drive is filled with scenic views of mountain ranges, valleys, and the Bhagirathi River flowing alongside. Uttarkashi, known for its spiritual significance, houses the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple. After checking in at the hotel, take a leisurely evening stroll along the riverbanks or visit local temples to soak in the divine atmosphere. This quiet town, with its blend of nature and spirituality, is the perfect place to rest and prepare for your visit to Gangotri the next day.
Uttarkashi to Gangotri and Return - On this day, set out early for a drive to Gangotri, the source of the holy Ganges River. The scenic route takes you through dense forests, rugged cliffs, and stunning landscapes. On reaching Gangotri, take a sacred dip in the icy waters of the Bhagirathi River at the ghats before entering the temple. Pay your respects to Goddess Ganga, the river deity revered by millions. After the darshan, spend some time soaking in the spiritual vibes and exploring the nearby areas. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Uttarkashi, where you can unwind at the hotel and reflect on the spiritual experiences of the day.
